How you doin'? I got news for ya! CALIFORNIA's Hip Hop is in Vienna! Who exactly? Spinz aka $cotty Westwood and the Swollen Members. Okay, okay, let's tell the story from the beginning.
I was at the Invitational Freestyle Battle in B72 on the 5th of January. Mista from the HHVB-community was there to battle and I met some rappers (Splank White, X.L.E.O., Kaul Kwappen, JerMC, Fellowsoph) there too. Mista battled against, $cotty Westwood in the first round. It was fun to watch that round. Mista played with both languages $cotty Westwood had so much energy and a beautiful flow. Last Thursday, I had two interviews with $cotty Westwood. One for the HHVB and the other one for musiccinema.
What can I tell about him? He is a hard working, down-to-earth, real rapper from Oxnard, California. He is connected with many artists (famous and underground rappers). And in my eyes, he personifies Hip Hop. You will read more about him in another blog entry.
Now back to the topic! Spinz is in Vienna and will have a gig with the Swollen Members. He is one of the most experienced and inspiring rapper I know personally when it comes to perform on stage. Be there and enjoy the show by professional rappers and DJs.
