Adolessonz... who?
There is wordplay in their duo-name "Adolessonz". People often supposed that Chriz Ondamic and Bandulu were adolescent, so the duo took the word "adolescent" and put the word "lessons" in it to represent their genre of music: conscious rap/Hip Hop.The interview started with a story about Chriz Ondamic's experience in former interviews. Understanding his disapproving attitude towards questions about his person, I decided not to ask the duo the standard questions. So I cannot tell you who they really are. But maybe this will change in the future.
pure consciousness
Chriz Ondamic set the focus of this interview on their first album "Monetary" with the words, "The work of art should be more important than the person making it." The influence by American conscious rap (e.g.: Nas, KRS One) has made Chriz Ondamic from the Adolessonz-duo the artist and person he is today. He is always aware of the society's situation.more a lesson than an interview
As the title "Monetary" already says it, we talked a lot about money. Chriz Ondamic and Bandulu were presenting their critique about the financial system in the interview and gave suggestions how it could be: More peaceful with "B.I.G.". (B.I.G. is the abbreviation of Basic Income Grant). Maybe you'd say that this topic is stereotyped in conscious rap, but let me tell you that they did it with arguments of one of the most respected Austrian professor in economy called a.o. Univ. Prof. Franz Hörmann and positives vibes. In "Monetary" you will hear parts of Prof. Hörmann's lectures that strengthens Adolessonz' thoughts about money. For example the outra of track #6 called "Moneymaker feat. Bandulu" or the whole track #8 called "What's wrong with our money? (Prof. Hörmann Skit)".However, Adolessonz warned me:
"Media is powerful, and it knows how to destroy people's reputation for their own purpose. Once the media do it, these people are not taken serious anymore. This happened with Prof. Hörmann. But people don't know that I put parts of his lectures in "Monetary" before this fake scandal occured."
It was like I was talking to an Austrian KRS One or an Austrian Nas. No matter what Adolessonz said, there was pure consciousness. To me, this interview was more a lesson than an interview.
