ARL @Dreistil - Kick off on the 22nd of May, 2014 acapella battle vs Böser Wolf (Kopf an Kopf ab crew)
In the first round of this acapella battle, Arl rapped about Böser Wolf's looks and played with his opponent's artist name meaning "Bad Wolf" in English.
"With your fur, you look like Conchita Wurst. (...)" - Arl in the first roundIn the second round, Arl rapped with a double flow and used words like "charts", "go-kart", "Son Goku".
In the third round, Böser Wolf's political attitude and his state of drunkenness were the plot of this round. Arl played with words and metaphors (blau, blau sein -> blue, being drunk [word by word: being blue]). It is impossible to translate this wordplay into English without losing its meaning and rhetorical technique. In the end of Arl's turn, he told us a fairytale about a wolf and pointed out that in the end of any fairytale the wolf always dies.
The audience decision: Arl qualifies for the final of Dreistil's first acapella battle. The final took place on the next Dreistil event on the 26th of June, 2014.
ARL @Dreistil - Rap battle on the 26th of June, 2014, acapella battle vs JerMC (Trivialz crew)
Arl had won the first Dreistil acapella semifinal against Böser Wolf (Kopf an Kopf ab crew) on the 22nd of May, 2014. He had qualified for the final that took place on the 26th of June, 2014. The rules: three rounds á 30 seconds. His opponent: JerMC.In the first round, Arl showed how much he knows about JerMC and made fun of every fact he knew about him. In the end of the round, Arl was having fun with double time flows.
In the second round, Arl's self-confidence was proved. In the end of this round, he played with the words "apps" of a smartphone and "abs". JerMC showed the audience his simple mobile phone to demonstrate that he got no smartphone. This smashed the meaning of Arl's lines about apps and smartphones but Arl smiled, took a short break, stayed self-confident and spitted a freestyle line to save the failed ones. And he did very well.
"I have begun rapping at a time when Jay-Z didn't know how many problems he got." - Arl in the second round.
Arl was still able to keep his level in the third round. There he used unsusual words like "Frankenstein" and "Game of Thrones".
The audience was not able to give a doubtless decision. Finally, the judges, Faun (Club der Menschen crew) and FuchsMC, decided in favour of Arl. The HHVB-team congratulates!
ARL @Dreistil - Rap battle on the 25th of September 2014, freestyle battle vs X.L.E.O. (Club der Menschen crew) & Noah (Kopf an Kopf ab crew)
After the acapella battles rapper Arl participated in, he tried out Dreistil's freestyle battle on the 25th of September. He won the qualification cypher and qualified for the first round against rapper X.L.E.O. from the Club der Menschen crew. X.L.E.O. began this round.In the first round, Arl repeated his freestyle part after realizing that his microphone did not work. Arl did not introduce himself as X.L.E.O. did, he straight away battled him.
"I would have liked to defend myself but this jerk didn't insult me."
Ending this round with Mama-paroles, he said,
"I'm the MC with the flow here."
In the second round, Arl respected his opponent's skill.
"Yeah, you're wicked freestyler. But man, you're shit in the battle and wasted 8 bars."
Telling the audience that X.L.E.O. said stuff without any meaning, he offended X.L.E.O.'s rapper's name while exceeding about the limit of 8 bars.
In the third round, X.L.E.O. presented himself as a friendly guy who recycles. Arl took his opponent's line,
"When people look at me, they see that I'm handsome. You recycle? Because you're trash."
He then again used Mama's lines with a wonderful rhyme like,
"You're mother got small and cute tits like Mannerschnitten." (original: Deine Mama hat Titten, die so schmal und süß sind wie Mannerschnitten)
The audience decided Arl to get to the semifinal of the freestyle battle. There he had to battle against Noah (Kopf an Kopf ab crew).
Arl was the one to begin the battle against Noah. The rules: 4 rounds á 4 bars.
Calling the first round against X.L.E.O. an easy one, Arl stayed cool and described his new opponent a pushover.
In the second round, Arl became aggressive and almost broke the rules,
"You dissappear in the Malaysian airplane."
Arl had difficulties to defend himself properly in the third and fourth round. Some of his punchlines,
"You're the better MC but you're losing the battle. (...) You wanna smash my glasses cause only then you got a little chance against me. If you wanna win you got to keep in time."
The audience decided Noah to get to the final round of the freestyle battle.
