It's been a long time, but I've never given up supporting Dreistil! The last Dreistil - Rap Battle took place in Live Music Club Replugged Vienna on the 26th of June, 2014 and here's the summary to it.
Rapper Faun (Club der Menschen crew) and rapper FuchsMC were invited as judges in doubtful decisions made by the audience.
Freestyle battle
Qualification rounds
The qualification rounds of the freestyle battle was differently organised than in the first Dreistil's freestyle battles. In the first freestyle battle, the qualification round was a simple line-up. In this freestyle battle, the qualification rounds were organised as cyphers. I was surprised how big Vienna's rapper scene is. Many new faces, many new names. I had problems to keep them in my mind. There were three cyphers á four rappers. All the twelve rappers respected the order of the rapper's turn in their cypher. But the dynamics of each cypher were different and fascinating. The second cypher was similar to a 2 vs 2 battle. The third cypher was a play with associations and rhymes. Very entertaining!
In the end of the qualification rounds, B Melo (?) and Mista had to battle against each other to strengthen the insecure decision by the judges Faun (Club der Menschen crew) and FuchsMC.
Finally, Der Mog (Club der Menschen crew), Mista & Fellowsoph from the first cypher, Samy the King from the second cypher, Noah (Kopf an Kopf ab crew), Alex (Kopf an Kopf ab crew), Kschisch (Kopf an Kopf ab crew) & Böser Wolf (Kopf an Kopf ab crew) from the third cypher qualified for the first rounds.
There are no videos of the qualification rounds.
First rounds
In the first rounds, the participants had to show their talent in a 1 vs 1 battle with 3 turns á 8 bars.Alex (aka Dagoth Ur; Kopf an Kopf ab crew) and Fellowsoph were the first ones to open the first rounds. Alex began the first round and Fellowsoph finished it.
Fellowsoph: "This is like Wladimir Putin vs Sebastian Kurz [Austrian's foreign minister]"

Kschisch (Kopf an Kopf ab crew) and Mista made a classic rap battle with jokes about their mothers and lots of bad words. Mista began the first round, Kschisch finished it.
Kschisch: "In the last [Dreistil Rap] battle, he was hiding in the women's toilet (...)"
Mista: "(...) I was in the women's toilet because I fucked your mother there."

Der Mog (Club der Menschen) and Samy the King had problems to stand to the rules. Der Mog seemed to be unprepared when he asked on stage about the rules while using the mic. Samy the King was calm and self-confident, he had a beautiful flow, but he was the one who overceeded the amount of bars. Both were rapping about dicks.

Böser Wolf and Noah made the last first round of the freestyle battle. Both of them belong to the same rapper crew called "Kopf an Kopf ab", but they had no problem to respect each other in their battle. Böser Wolf took the word "Eiffel tower" from the "Der Mog vs Samy the King"-battle, rhymed on it and on the difficult word "eloquent". The plot of this battle were private things like a engagement ring that was dropped into the toilet, the inability to keep a mature relationship or the prelude of making love. It's a pity that there is no YouTube-video online. Should one be uploaded, I will let you know.
Semifinals
Der Mog (Club der Menschen crew) and Noah (Kopf an Kopf ab crew, winner of the previous Dreistil's freestyle battle) know each other well from the freestyle sessions at Einbaumöbel, a hotspot for freestyle rapbattles in Vienna. Even though only 3 rounds á 4 bars were allowed, Noah started a fourth round that ended with no counterpart by der Mog. So Noah started and ended this semifinal. However, the audience called for an encore Der Mog started. The rules: 4 turns á 4 bars. Plot: Noah's drug addiction. For the full version, watch YouTube-videos: click here.
Fellowsoph and Mista had a beautiful flow. Their raps were about their looks. Fellowsoph started, Mista ended this semifinal while trying to defend his rhymes about his opponent's mother. Fellowsoph made an adult impression.
Fellowsoph: Your rhymes about my mother are ridiculous. Don't you come to me with this bullshit. (...)
Mista: He says that my rhymes about his mother are ridiculous. But for me, he is just a wanka bitch. (...)
The audience again called for an encore. Mista started it, Fellowsoph ended it. Plot: age of the participants, drugs, Fellowsoph's mother.

Final
The rules of this final: 7 rounds á 4 bars. A short break after the third turn. Fellowsoph started the first part, Noah ended it. Plot: Noah's financial situation, rap's potencial without bad words. Noah started the second part, Fellowsoph ended it. Plot: education, Noah's raps and its contentual fixedness.
The doubtful decision by the audience made MC Kaul Kwappen announce a decision round consisting of 6 rounds á 4 bars. Fellowsoph started it and almost ended it too. DJ Funky P was consequent and turned down the music as he noticed that Fellowsoph wanted to start a 7th round. Plot of the decision round: money, Noah's rhymes with monosyllabic words, football world championship.

Acapella battle
In the previous Dreistil acapella battle (22nd of May, 2014) rapper Arl and rapper JerMC qualified for the final that would take place in this Dreistil acapella battle (26th of June, 2014). But this Dreistil acapella battle started with the new semifinals:Semifinal
Verus vs Movski (Sprachsex crew) was an interesting battle. Verus began this battle with brilliant flows (normal and double time), whereas Movski's rhetoric was genious and was similar to a speaker than to a rapper. During the battle, Verus became more nervous and had black outs. He made himself an easy target. What a pity! :( I'm looking forward to seeing more of Verus. He is talented indeed. Plot of this battle: Verus' fitness, Verus' hobby hockey. For the full version, watch the YouTube-video: click here.
Arl vs JerMC + more information
After this battle, I had to go home. I was sad to do so because I wanted to support our rapper Arl. He was in the final of the acapella battle together with rapper JerMC and told me afterwards that Arl was the winner of the first Dreistil's acapella battle. Congratulations from the HHVB-team! Movski qualified for the final that will take place on the 29th of September, 2014.For more information go to Dreistil Rap Battle (26th of June) - minutes.
