Mobb Deep’s supporter act: Böser Wolf and DJ Bacchus (impressions)

Oh, where should I start? Mobb Deep had their concert on the 11th of June in Grelle Forelle in Vienna. When I arrived at the underground station Spittelau, I had my problems to get there. I got lost for 20 minutes. Google Maps and GPS couldn’t really help me. When I finally found that location that is situated close to the Danube, I couldn’t find the entrance. Hahaha! WTF! Security men that didn’t stand in the entrance showed me the way. I got relieved, entered, paid the entrance fee of 28,90 Euro and explored Grelle Forelle. It was my very first time there. And I found out, Grelle Forelle is not in an official street, so that’s why my GPS couldn’t find it!

Grelle Forelle has three big rooms, two bars and an outdoor lounge. The rooms were not higher than 2,5 metres and had no windows, nor an electric fan, neither an air condition. The biggest room is in the very back of Grelle Forelle and had a stage that was not higher than one metre. Before the concert started, I smoked my Villiger Kiel cigar and danced to oldschool hip hop songs. Oh, how I enjoyed it! :D Especially when they played “Dear Mama” by Tupac.

Böser Wolf and Fant were the first ones to perform on stage. It was 8 or 9 o’clock in the evening when they started, so the location was not really full. I can only say to the people who came too late, “You hella missed something!!!!” Both performed Böser Wolf's EP called “Halbschlaf EP” (half sleep EP) very professionally and made it hard for the next acts to overcome their limit of standards. In the end, these Viennese rappers have made me proud to come from Vienna!

Their songs are dark, rhetorical and metaphorical at a high standard, very deep in their meanings/messages, easy  to hear and perfectly made for a performance on stage. Full of energy, very entertaining, including their audience in their performances in an unusual way, they have done a very good job. And me as an artist, I got highly inspired. Thanks for the inspiration, guys!
In another blog entry, I will write more detailed about their songs. So stay tuned!

Peace,
Kath
