This is a MUST for every fan of Viennese Hip Hop! The name of this liveshow must be in your mind when you think of Viennese Hip Hop scene or Viennese rap scene. It's a big project and it will become bigger and bigger. What its name is? FREATZ! Founder is rapper Faun (member of the crew called "Club der Menschen" [engl.: club of human beings]) and together with rapper X.L.E.O. (also a member of "Club der Menschen"), they are the resident rappers of the liveshow! FREATZ's motto: "Eure Kommentare - Unsere Raps" meaning "Your comments - Our raps"!
What's so special about this liveshow? It's German freestyle rap on high standards with a real challange for the freestyle rappers. On every second Sunday at 20:00 Central European Time, you check the website of the livestream (http://www.make.tv/freatz), you log into the livechat (registration is not required) and write some comments. The resident rappers Faun and X.L.E.O. then rap freestyle to your comments. At times together with a guest rapper. And always for exactly an hour long. This liveshow definitely gives you a variety on a Sunday evening. I logged into FREATZ's livechat on the 15th of June for the first time. I was absolutely entertained. I laughed hard and very often during the show. :D :D
It's not easy to rap in freestyle and it's not getting easier when you get so many words you have to rap about in a short time. On the 15th of June, this was the case. DJ Phlow gave the beats, MC Poe was the guest rapper and a MC Poe-fan wrote comments including the guest rapper's artist name every four or five seconds. For example "POElitiker" instead of "Politiker [engl.: politician]" or "POEstation" instead of "Playstation". Don't tell me anything about multitasking! It was almost impossible to read the comments, to listen to the raps tensely, to think about the next comment and to really write them in the livechat at the same time! Despite all these difficulties, it was still entertaining!!
Some of my comments in the livechat were "Klobürste" meaning "toilet brush", "power move" (watch in the archive at 45:30) and "Katastrophe" meaning "catastrophy". I have never listened to many raps about a toilet brush. I was astonished, fascinated and rapt when they really did it! Thanks to Faun, X.L.E.O. and MC Poe! Mentionable is also rapper Faun's freestyle rap in a dialect (e.g. a rap about "Eierschwammerl" meaning a mushroom called "chanterelle"; in the archive at 37:54).
The next liveshow will be broadcasted on the 13th of July. So tune in when they say "Eure Kommentare - Unsere Raps" ("Your comments - Our Raps").
