Christmas days passed! How was your Christmas?
Two weeks ago, DJ Dr. Drunkadelic told me about his gig as a supporter act together with his rapper crew Club der Menschen in the bar "B72" on the 25th of December, 2014. German rapper eloQuent should be the main act. A rapper I haven't heard of before. Bboy Giant Rock from the Hip Hop Kulturkreis association and Hip Hop dancer NatureFlow recommended me eloQuent's music. I missed Club der Menschen and DJ Dr. Drunkadelic, so I decided two days before the gig to buy a ticket for the gig. eloQuent's music made me want to stay until the end of the gig.
I have never been in B72 before and as always I got lost. :P When I finally found the bar, Club der Menschen were already ready to have their freestyle rap show FREATZ live. I entered some words on their website for their show and collected some words for them from the guests I didn't know personally. That's how I got to know Splank White from the rapper duo Weisssgold.

At 21:05 CET, it was stage time! Aj, it was so funny. Club der Menschen had a concept for their show and it worked out well. Every freestyle rapper introduced himself with a short freestyle rap. One rapper went on stage when the rapper before him called his name in a rap. They then spontanously were rapping about the words people entered on their website. After around 15 minutes introduction and rap about the entered words, there was a small break. Rapper Faun asked the audience what it doesn't want to hear a rap about. I cannot remember exactly, but I think one of three words were "Christmas". So there was a freestyle rap about Christmas. After 5 minutes, Faun asked the audience what the audience really want to hear. The words were "a unicorn on drugs in the underground line 6". Shit, I was laughing so hard and the audience enjoyed the show. In the end of their show, Club der Menschen invited the audience to rap together with them. The audience should finish the lines with a word that rhymes with the last word of the line before. This showed me how difficult it is to rap in freestyle to words someone else gives to you. HATS OFF!
At 21:30 CET, it was "Alle Meine Freunde Aber Ich Nicht"s turn to go on stage. This crew consists of the rappers of Weisssgold-duo (Splank White & Struggle Gold), the singer Kurd Y. and DJ Kapazunda. The crowd went crazy when featured singer Aminata was singing. What a fucking AMAZING voice she had! :O
At 22:30 CET, T-Ser went on stage. He came from Salzburg with his girlfriend but without his DJ and a backup rapper. DJ Kapazunda supported him. I respected T-Ser for that show. He was the first German speaking rapper I know that gave a gig without a backup rapper. A talented rapper with experience on stage.
Rapper eloQuent came from Germany and was celebrated as a real main act like a little Eminem. The audience rapped together with him loudly, asked for autographs and got an encore. I didn't bring my camera along because it didn't work. But I took a few pictures with my smartphone. Before midnight, I finally went home.
There have been too many Hip Hop events in December I have been to. And I need to take a break and take it easier in January. So next month, you'll find few blog entries about events, but many more about artists.
