Munich rappers CeeQu and Cervo in Vienna (Feb '15)

Vienna had some special freestyle rappers from Munich, Germany as guests: CeeQu (wordplay with "Seek you") and Cervo (meaning the animal "hart").

Jamming on the streets

On the 26th of February, I connected both talented freestyle rappers with Bboy Turtle (Unique Artists) and freestyle rapper Knostel da Huber. We five Hip Hop artists had a lot of fun doing street art in front of Vienna's main library. Bboy Turtle and I jammed to the freestyle raps of our three rappers. We felt united as one crew even though Cervo was the first time in Vienna and CeeQu for the second time. It was also the first time for both Munichs doing a performance in the street. We had a lot of listeners and spectators because near our spot was Katy Perry's concert.

How was your New Year's Eve? Did you party hard? Well, I can tell you that in January there are many more reasons to enjoy Hip Hop culture in Vienna!

Tomorrow, one the 3rd of January, there will be a Free Hip Hop Night in the location called "The Loft". You can enjoy Hip Hop music with DJ Moerky (Bazzaka), DJ Cueing (SampleSlaya) and DJ Derryl Danston. Are you ready to jam? How you get there? Just get off from the underground line 6 at the station "Thaliastraße", cross the street. The address: 1160 Wien, Lerchenfeldergürtel 37
I don't know any of these DJs personally, but the owner of "The Loft" is a cool guy. :D

What's up? I've had a job for a month and just dismissed yesterday. I had almost no time for supporting my Hip Hop artists and for updating the HHVB. But this didn't mean that I had no time for Hip Hop. I was at two Hip Hop events last week. And tomorrow Vienna will be a hotspot for the urban dancers (Hip Hop, House, Breakdance) in Austria and Europe.

But what's new now on the HHVB? On the 29th of September I let you know what will be next on the HHVB (read about it here). And I managed to write some of the planned blog entries.

Dreistil - Rapbattle (25th of September, 2014) - impressions

Wo soll ich beginnen? Mit MC Anal? Die Gäste, die beim letzten Dreistil dabei waren, würden jetzt schmunzeln, wenn nicht sogar lachen. Nicht nur wegen dem Künstlernamen, sondern auch wegen dem lustigen Freestylebattle zwischen ihm und Rapper Mista in der Vorrunde. Was da los war? Er hatte schon im Cypher der Qualifikationsrunde den Big Boss mit dem slawischen Akzent heraushängen lassen, hat andere nicht zu Wort kommen lassen, war auffällig ungehorsam, hörte nicht auf den MC Kaul Kwappen. DerFischer @Dreistil (25th of September, 2014)

"Oh, Mann, ist DER blass!", hab ich mir gedacht, als ich den Rapper DerFischer auf der Bühne gegen den Rapper Fellowsoph (Trivialz crew) antreten gesehen hab. Ich hab mich sehr geärgert, als ich die ersten Lines von Fischers erster Runde gehört hab und einsehen musste, dass er sein Potenzial nicht komplett ausschöpfen kann. Seine Stimme war geschwächt, Bühnenpräsenz fast nicht vorhanden. Was war denn los? Diese Frage hab ich ihn gestellt, als ich ihn zufällig einige Tage nach dem Dreistil Rap Battle beim Hip Hop Fest auf der Insel (pt. 2) getroffen hab. Eine üble Hinreise nach Wien war schuld. Aber dazu später mehr.

How you doin'? The last weeks were so much Hip Hop in Vienna. I won't tell you about every single Hip Hop event I've been because some were supported by politicians and we don't want any political content on the HHVB.

Rapper Faun (Club der Menschen crew) invited me to FREATZ, the Freestyle Rap Livestream aus Atzgersdorf, on the 21st of September for an interview with him. We both had no time for that interview, so he let me look behind the scenes of FREATZ. I took a lot of pictures and enjoyed watching DJ Dr. Drunkadelic (Hashtwins: Die Siamesischen Chillinge - Duo; Club der Menschen crew), resident-rappers Faun and X-L.E.O. Der Dreistil Rap Battle geht am 25.09. im Loft in die dritte Runde. Specials gibt's viele und ein Drama gibt's auch. Aber lasst mich zuerst mit den Special guests beginnen:

Rapper Doktor Dave, bekannt aus dem deutschen Rapbattle-Format "Rap am Mittwoch" hat beim letzten Dreistil Acapella Battle am 26.06. gegen Freestyle Rapper Knostel da Huber die Vorrunde gewonnen. Er wird wieder direkt aus Deutschland nach Wien kommen, um im nächsten Dreistil am 25.09. gegen Rapper Movski (Sprachsex crew) im Finale zu stehen. Wer wird das Preisgeld von 200 Euro abcashen? (Wenn ihr wissen wollt, wie sich Doktor Dave und Movski für das Finale qualifiziert haben, dann lest hier rein.)

Hey, guys!

There was a lot on the agenda this week. I interviewed Beli Vuk about his new song "Rap Bombardement" and supported him with three blog entries (announcement, background information, short analysis and English translation of the lyrics). This way of supporting a song with HHVB will be it!

Beside working for the HHVB, I was supporting the Dreistil team with handing out flyers for the second Dreistil rap battle on the 26th of June (announcement, description). Plus, I visited that battle, took minutes for the HHVB and wrote down some notes for a blog entry with my impressions.

Dreistil - Kick Off - impressions

On the 22nd of May Dreistil has been taken place for the very first time in REPLUGGED! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaah! Well, I got to say: I'm in love with this battle. Before REPLUGGED opened its doors for this event at 19:30, I was there an hour earlier to have a talk with Dreistil's organisators Daniel Malik, Epos and Kaul Kwappen. By the way, they had organised a camera team (video and photography).
